help, new to ball pythons, question about feces/urination
Hi everyone! I just bought a ball python about 3 weeks ago, and he is shedding right now. He was having a rough time, i guess because the humidity was too low. I upped the humidity and let him soak in warm water for about 15 minutes. When i took him out and was drying him, something fell out the bottom of him into the water, it was like a white oval, from almost near the tail. Is that normal? Was it feces or urine? Thank you for the help.

Sounds like a urate... nothing to be worried about. ;) They usually defecate right after shedding.

White/Yellow? that's got to be urine. my boys love to poop in the bath water. i actually heard my adult cut one and i saw it bubble. you would have thought i won the lottery. i was laughing and yelling. i am such a juvenile sometimes.

    Welcome to the forum :gj:

Here's a wonderful thread regarding a bad shed.

Ball pythons will do their business in water, so it's nothing to be worried about.

Has he already shed and you're dealing with a bad shed? or has he not shed you're just trying to ensure there's enough moisture to ensure a good shed?

Nate: This is the first time I am experiencing him shedding. I just want to make sure I am doing everything right, i have misted the cage a few times today, soaked him, the humidity is about 70 in the cage now and i have a towel covering 2/3 of it.
