Not allowed to respond to for sale ads?

I've not tried to use the ad forums on this site before~ but today I saw an ad for something I wanted and attempted to respond with a question if any trades would be considered. When I click to respond button it tells me I do not have permission.

Is this normal and I've just not run across this limitation before? Or am I missing something? I'll just try PMing the seller with my question~ but I am curious why I can't respond to an ad in the thread.

Hi,

Yes - only the seller is allowed to respond to their own ads.

There is a small announcement on it, as well as the ad rules for that section.

Let us know if you have any more questions.

Only people posting ad's can post in the forum. all inqueries need to be PM'd to the seller.

I read the site rules and didn't see anything~ it didn't occur to me to read the for sale forum rules since I wasn't trying to create a thread there. I really appreciate the heads up! Though since it is apparently posted where I could have found if I'd looked carefully enough I feel a bit foolish! Thanks for the info!
