Incubation Methods

I saw a video of a guy who had open tubs on top of his flexwatt full of water, and placed eggs in rubbermaid containers with no substrate..
im not sure if they were ball python eggs, has anyone done this? it seems if it has been sucessful it would be a better option for me...just want some opinions

I have seen people use aquariums with aquarium heaters to make incubators. A friend of mine has successfully hatched colubrids with a fairly simple one: he placed bricks in a ten gallon aquarium and put an aquarium heater in the water down the center. Then he put a piece of plastic egg crate on top of the bricks and put his tubs of eggs (w/hatching medium) on top of the egg crate. It took him a few days (BEFORE he added eggs!) to get the air temps just right by tweaking the water heater, but once it was set it stayed pretty constant because the aquarium heater has a built in thermostat (on-off instead of proportional though, I do believe). Might be something to look into.

You can also build incubators out of coolers or refrigerators and sheets of flexwatt. These seem to be pretty popular methods in the BP world :)
