    Eating Problems...
Well my Ball Python has eaten every week, sometimes, once ever five days but he stopped eating for 2 weeks.

Today I went out and bought an african rat to replace the small rat that he has been avoiding, and he almost instantly ate the african rat... Do you think he will want to stick to the africans? I hope in 5-7 days he will eat the small rat that I have sitting in my closet right now. I just rather him eat normal rats than the more expensive african alternative.

    Thanks.

Just for future reference, a snake going two weeks without eating is not a "eating problem". It is common place. And often a good thing. So in the future dont be so quick on changing its food. Hell, sometimes I make mine miss two weeks on purpose. Mainly because it has been so long since they missed a meal on their own that they needed to be put on a temporary diet.

As far as your question goes..... maybe, maybe not. I got balls that eat just rats, some that eat just ASFs and some that eat whatever you throw in the tub. Which one is your snake going to be? Guess you are about to find out.

I guess. I just like for him to eat once every 5-7 days, makes me feel secure.

He's my first Ball Python and I know they are very tempermental eaters but I just have that protection parenthood type attitude lol.

    Thanks.
