Dumeril housing question...
I have a plastic tub that is about 20x40x6 (need to measure for exact, but that should be close...). Would a 2.5yr old, 4ft dumeril ground boa be able to live in that, with aspen or other bedding to burrow, a warm and 'cool' side, and proper humidity?
Thanks!
Re: Dumeril housing question...
if it is those dimensions, that sounds like plenty of room
Re: Dumeril housing question...
Thanks!
I've heard that it is good to have a water dish on the warm and cool sides. Is that really needed? Do you still do that when you use a rack or tub?
I read in one place that they need light inlcuding UVB, but have not seen that anywhere else and really doubt it. Am I correct?
My current plan would be to put matching hides on each end just big enough for him to fit in. But these probably aren't necessary as he should feel secure just fine in the tub...
I may start with aspen shavings to allow for burrowing and see how I like that. But paper towels or news paper may end up being used as I did not like the aspen with my BP.
I'll provide a temp gradient and keep the humidity about 60% (I'll look up the recommend temps and humdity again and follow that).
Re: Dumeril housing question...
Yeah...a good care sheet is definitely in order.
No lights....1 water dish...holes in the tub....about 93~ degrees on hot, 80~ degrees on cool, you should be good to go.
I dont use hides.
