Re: Work in progress Incubator
I like it.
I have yet to build mine, so this kind of post is actually very helpful. What are you going to replace the flexwatt with, if I may ask?
Re: Work in progress Incubator
im going to put in the larger 11' inch flexwatt. Seems the smaller one has to work harder to keep the heat. so i decided to replace it. :D Glad i could help
Re: Work in progress Incubator
Good idea to use a cooler. Well insulated, light weight. How much could it hold at one time? I like it but I don't know if I trust it. This coming season I am going to have hopefully have a butt load of eggs and I do not have an incubator big enough to hold all of them yet. So this is a good idea but I just don't know. The commercial incubators are so expensive. I was going to make one out of a old refrigerator but that thing is heavy. Definitely something to think about.

I was going to use a old fridge but i could not find one used, its going to hold the three clutches im hopeing for this year easy. Im just wondering why you say you dont trust it? Now you got me all worried haha. But i have had it on for 2 days just testing it out thats how i came to the conclusion to replace the flex. But it didnt melt or anything so im just wondering if there is something else i should worry about?? :salute:
Re: Work in progress Incubator
I said I don't trust it because it seems too simple and a easy solution to something I have been pondering over. Other then that I can't see why it would not work.:gj: It looks like you have water bottles under the metal grate, What are those for?

I like it :gj:
The man I got my pastel girl from showed me his incubator. It's a large cooler, looks about 40-50g I think. Pretty cost efficient and when he explained it to me it made total sense lol. It's very well insulated and as long as you have air flow and heat control I think it's perfect and I'd definitely do this when the time comes

The watter bottles help keep a steady temp. :gj: I think haha
Re: Work in progress Incubator
Water bottles hold the heat, and help to reheat anythime you open the incubator.
