Just moved to north carolina and need some help
    Hello,

I have not been here for some time but it's good to be back. things have changed alot since i was last here.

anyway i have just moved from Michigan to Raleigh, North Carolina and i need some advice from some herpers that know the area. i am looking for some stores that keep snake supplies and most important frozen mice. I do not like shopping at the petcos and petsmarts of the world so i need to find a place (locally owned would be great) to shop. also i am looking for some good shows to attend. the one i went to in michigan was monthly and something like that down here would be great. Any other helpful tips or advise would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the help anyone that replies.

    Kevin,
I'm here in Greensboro NC -
while I don't have any favorite stores there are a few guys that I've made connections here in North Carolina, although they do not have a retail store.

    www.reptilebasics.com for your supply needs
www.coldblooded-novelties.com has frozen rodents, and a variety of herps for sale - they are both in the Trinity/High Point, NC areas.
Easy for me - maybe not so easy for you but still within reason.

Reptile Basics is great even though most of their dealings is still online. Raleigh has one of the better "small shows" I have been to. They have it twice a year, May and September at the Fairgrounds. I am located about 2 hours East of there but I'm just a small scale breeder and raise just enough rodents for myself. Good Luck...maybe we will see you in May.

    Hi!
I also live in Raleigh, NC (and just so you know it NEVER snows here...so enjoy it...). I buy all of my reptile supplies at Carolina Pet Supply. Everybody who works there is very knowledgable and they are always well stocked with supplies. I'll PM you the address and phone number.

I'll put in another good word for Carolina Pet Supply. They are the only place we have found locally that is reliable in having good feeders and a friendly/generally knowledgeable staff. Someone already mentioned the twice yearly shows we have in Raleigh. Google 'Raleigh Reptile Show' if you want more information and a vendor list. If you feed a lot of frozen, you can buy in bulk there for relatively cheap. Reptile Basics is also awesome for any rack/caging/general supply needs, and I purchased an awesome female ball python from ColdBlooded Novelties about a year ago. I think there are also occasionally shows down in Charlotte, though I have never attended one myself.

Didn't you guys just get like 8 inches of snow?

I used to live in the area when I went to UNC-CH and my folks still live in Greensboro, but I wasn't keeping reptiles then. Sorry I can't help!
