    Shedding time! Humid hide question
My new bp's eyes are super cloudy this morning so im pretty sure hes gonna have his first shed! i made a humid hide but he is so blind right now he cant see it to go in! I put it right infront of him but he is just coiled in the corner looking worried cuz the poor guy cant see!

how do your shedding bp's find their humid hide? or any of their hides for that matter?

they would reconize it from its scent .... if u putt the hide in there while it was in blue it has no idea what it is and is most likely stressing him out a lil... but thats more of a guess then first hand knowledge

X2, you should have it in there before so he/she would recognize and get familiar with it... then make it a humid hide when he/she is in shedding.

when you put it in there when theyre blind lol they have no idea what it is.. for all they know its a predator thats going to hurt them :taz:

just raise the enclosure humidity if possible and take out the hide for now imo... its proably just stressing your snake out.

    Hi,

Actually if his eyes are still full blue I would leave it in.

By the time he goes through the blue and the clear eyed stage that follows he should be fairly used to it and might be using it to help himself shed. :)

I agree it is worth trying to adjust the humidity in the full enclosure though - if you post pictures and descriptions of your tank we might be able to sujest thigns that would help with that. :gj:

I did the same thing today kinda, I switched hides, but Neemo finally went in he was a little hesistant at first, to make my hides humid I just put a couple pieces of moist sea sponge in the hides

    Exactly!

Don't worry, he will find the hide, just leave it in. :D
