Humor me here... Lab block question

Lab block, kibble, hog feed, whatever. It is all pretty similar in makeup. It is a bunch of different ingredients that are put together in the form of blocks, pellets, kibble, whatever.

Question is, say you have a handfull of pellets or a handfull of mazuri 6f blocks... Is there any way to turn a bunch of pieces into a single ball? In otherwords, is it possible to turn 20 pieces of Mazuri 6F into one big piece? How would you do it?


Sorry if this doesn't make sense... If it doesn't let me know and I will try to explain better.

You grind it up, soak it(without getting it sour) and then press it into larger blocks(Push it through a larger pipe and cut it into pieces), and then bake it to harden it.
You might ruin it by souring, or by overdrying.

Are you breeding something we should know about, or maybe be scared of? :twisted:

I might be mistaken, but I think when they make the pellets at the factory, they are pushed through the system under quite a lot of pressure, like maybe 1000 lbs. You are going to have trouble replicating that, which will probably result in a very crumbly block.

You can probably buy one of the machines that they use to press it with.

Think levers..... like the old playdoh type contraptions, but bigger. :P

Am I the only one dying to know the results of this experiment?

Here is another idea.... use an edible glue and just glue them together. Most of the edible glue recipes have a sweetener in them... I wouldn't use those. Something like paper mache paste (one of the ones made from just water & flour) might work well.
