    Ibo's 10gal Setup!
Used some tips from CueBall's Stickied Post...loved that hide and so does Ibo!
    Tank:$12 at Walmart
    Screen top:$6 at Walmart
Water dish: $1 tupperware at Walmart
Fake vine/Foliage:$6 at Walmart gave me enough for his and to add some to Ocho's tank.
Hide: $14 at PetSmart, I slurged on him...he is my baby! haha
Repti-carpet: $3 at Reptile Expo in Indy...got two pieces for cleaning time...
Analog Hygro:$5-6 at PetSmart...Took this out of Ocho's when I got the Accurite All-in-One, but thought I'd use it in his...it's hiding behind the tree.
Accurite Digital, WIRELESS Indoor/Outdoor Thermo: $9 at Walmart. (Again I already had the analog hygro, or I would have got another of the All-in-Ones.)
Lamp Fixtures: $5 a piece at Home Depot.
Regular Bulb: Already had it, but like $1 for four at any store...
Night bulb: $5 at Walmart. It gets moved to the hot end at night and the other cool end heat source keeps the cool end from dropping below 78 or so..which is a Mini-Zoo-?Something? heatpad and I can't remember how much that cost me...$12-15 maybe?
Temps on Warm end 92-98 during day/90-93 night.
Temps on Cold end 80-83 during day/78-80 night.

Here he is on his hide...glad I splurged, cause he loves it!

About $85 total. But I already had the mini-heat pad and regular bulbs...so let's say $70!!?? Not bad for that price??
Questions? Comments? Criticism? I love it all!

Lose that big tree hide looking thing...and get two matching hides.

And get a digital therm/hygro with a probe.

Other than that...not bad. Have fun.

You might want to get some Aspen bedding as well. From what I have heard, that carpet stuff harbors bacteria.

We had some, and it is a PAIN to clean as well. And yes, you need another hide on the cool side.

You'll want to think about using some dark colored paper for the sides and back of the tank to help increase the security of the snake.

You'll likely need to add another hide so that your ball can have security while he thermoregulates instead of needing to choose security over thermoregulation.

You might want to think about getting some aspen so you'll have it when you tire of disinfecting the carpet.

98F is pretty darned warm~ too warm. What are your ambient temps and humidity?

It's a pretty set up to look at but still needs some tweaking for a ball python to live in ;)

I do need another hide for cool side...Didn't plan on getting him, but went to the Reptile Expo this past Sunday in Indianapolis and picked him up...again unplanned...still gotta grab a few things! Lol
The temps have dropped since this pic, they were still adjusting/I was figuring out lamp positions for the correct temps....

That's why it's always a good idea to have the set up prepared and ready to go before the snake makes it home! Hopefully it'll be up and running quick. :gj:

That's how reptile expos go though.. we're all susceptible to impulse buys!

(except me aparently, I have yet to purchase a species that I hadn't already planned to purchase at least a few days prior.. I blame it on the lack of expos in MN)

i agree with everybody else on the tips they pointed out.

make sure you get that hot side temp down soon though, 98 is way way too hot.

98 is not way way way too hot,or does each way mean 1 degree?if the probe is on the glass, under the carpet its fine.the carpet will take it down on a few degrees.if it were aspen or newspaper id lower it a little bit.

you might want to move that light away from the hide/tree.thats asking for the back of the snake to get burnt.
