    The Reptile Industry/Hobby 2009
Thought I would start a different topic on here that I has been brought up from time, but I am not so sure if I have seen it this year on here! (sorry if I am wrong or mistaken)

Where would you like to see the Reptile Industry go in Canada in the next year?(If you are from there, or even if your not you can still answer)

Where would you like to see the Reptile Industry go in BC or your State or Province in the Next Year?

Where would you like to the Reptile Industry in the US go over the next year? (Same as above If you are from there, or even if your not you can still answer)

What are your goals to help the industry get to the objectives you have stated above in the next year?

    And of course for fun,

What do you plan to purchase this year?

What do you plan to hopefully produce in the next year?

It seems every year I always ask myself this, almost more so then a New Years resolution!!

I would like for international trade and reptile sales to be easier...but at the same time, I realize why the regulations are in place, and know that it will never change.

Currently, I am pretty satisfied with the reptile industry and policies and such associated with it in Michigan. I would like to see reversals of bans placed in several other states and localities, and hope that they never take hold here. Apart from that, one thing I am dissatisfied with is the local reptile expos. I have not been to the show in Taylor yet, which is the largest in the state, but the Lansing show is pathetic, and the Kalamazoo show is decent at best in my book. I would like to try the Grand Rapids show as well, but I have not heard many good things about it, so I would more than likely spend the gas money and travel time in the other direction and just go to Detroit.

For the nation or the industry as a whole, I want poor keepers or bad breeders to not screw it up for the rest of us, and I plan not being one of the idiots who makes it hard for the rest of us.

As for collection expansion...I dont know...there are several things I would like to get, but I really doubt I will ever have the money. Before anything, I would want to get more herp related "stuff" before more animals (to be practical anyway)...so that means before more snakes means I need a tstat, build a rack, need more rack space for the feeders, etc....just gets really expensive.

We have two breeding projects going right now, but they are still in baby stages, so no production for at least a year, probably two, for one project, and probably a solid 4 for the other. They are Blizzard Corn's and Albino BCI's.
