My first Rescue, Pics inside

Sol here is the story, i put an ad on craigslist looking for any unwanted snakes and an hour later i found this one. they wanted her gone asap. so after they wouldn't just give her up, cost me 50 bucks. then i headed up to pic her up. i showed up and lookied in her tank, no hides, no heat mat, one massively huge heat bulb u could see from space. in her tank her bedding was crushed shale, Like the rock, yea living on ROCK. Nice huh. and the water bowl was designed for crickets, i couldn.t have gotten 2 finger wet in it.

So i get her in the car and race her home.she is in good shape, speaking they tried to feed her chickens! I need to know how to remove eye caps, they said she shed like a month ago.

can anyone tell me if the tub she is in is a good size? and how to remove eye caps.

We have decided to name her Chewy!

I think the tub looks fine actually... I'm sure a lot better than her other place!!!

As for the eye caps, I have the same problem Mine is still eating, and I'm waiting for the next shed to remove them :)

Otherwise tape on one finger and slowly rolling it over its eyes might work.

Another method is putting it in a pillowcase with a damp towel and leaving itin it for 24 hrs. Hopefully it will rub its eye caps off while trying to get out.

The eye caps are not going to hurt her. However, the two methods suggested for removal by the previous user might. She will be fine if you keep her humidity high and just let them come off on their own. In the mean time, no handling until she's adjusted.

This is the bset suggestion. The caps should come off with the next shed.

keep humidity right, provide a humid hide during next shedding period and they should come of.

No quarantine? I would not worry about the caps. They are easy to remove, but if you don't have any experience doing it I would just leave them.

i havent tried it but i was told to use a Qtip and some mineral oil

I have used the wet pillow case overnight method before and have had pretty good luck with that. If it does not work, I would agree with the previous posts to leave it alone until the next shed when they should come off (as long as the humidity is a little higher)...

She is in Quarantine, the cage she is on is empty, I moved bubba in to my ghetto rack in the other room. and the tub to the left is her feeding tub. ok, i will leave her and hope they come off next shed. Thanks
