arboreal snakes

Im considering getting another snake, rite now i just have one ball python - if u can believe it - im looking for some tips or suggestions on arboreal snakes... id like to stay in the boid family cuase theyre the coolest one out there! any suggestions would be great !

Carpet Pythons :)

I agree with Dutch. Carpets make the best pets.

So do I, but as a pet they're not the greatest.

My suggestion would be a carpet python.


They can be very friendly, and are very very arboreal.

Green trees might require more than someone used to a ball is willing to give. The price of the snake and set up is much higher as well. Carpets are more practical. From these green trees are next! At least how I was.

Love my JCP, and she's in her branches all day long. The only time she goes to the floor of her tank is when I am misting. She HATES it. Even then, she is far more likely to just hide her head in her coils or under a leaf than go to the ground.

Also a very good beginner snake. She and my GBK are my first, and there has really been no learning curve at all. Very hardy, a bit flighty, but has only struck at me on the very first day I brought her home.

you will find as a whole arboreal snakes are much more nippy than balls. do your self a favor and make sure that before you buy your first you ask the breeder if the snake can be handled with bare hands. and what ever you do dont get a gtp if you plan on ever handleing them. arboreal snakes are more to be seen and not held. hope this helps.
