    Came across this today and thought it was an interesting vid. Selective breeding in Belgium Blues and taking a mutation to enhance an animal's purpose.

    This gene is in several breeds of cattle. The only problem with this genes is that it will not survive in pastures or feedlots anywhere. It has structural problems, it cannot breed right, calve right.

    Piedmontese, chi's, and sometimes it will pop up in random breeds..very rare, are doubled muscled. The show heifer I have now is limousin, they have a form of this gene that enhances muscle in the breed, but not that extreme. Interesting stuff!
