Pinks and Fuzzy - freezing? (again)
I know that this was discussed some in another thread recently, this is what I got from that:

    freezing is not humane
    and
    CO2 won't do the job...

What else is there? Say you want to sell a few extra f/t rodents. I'm still wondering how to humanely euthanize pinks and fuzzies (under two weeks)?

Just Freeze them, I feed live so I do not have the problem but I think they cannot feel being frozen so young. Also as horrible as this sounds with pinks because of how soft their bones are,you can just crush their heads with a quick pinch and it kills them.

AFAIK freezing is the human way to cull pinkies and fuzzies.

they are so sensitive to cold that i imagine it is not really inhumane... they probably die well before they freeze. i feel bad having to kill anything, but my guess is that being clamped in the jaws of a giant snake and squeezed to death or swallowed whole is not very humane either.

Actually it is recommended to freeze rodents under 2 weeks of age due to their resistance to hypoxia.
