    Boy or Girl
All over the web ther are videos and info on how to sex your BP. Now I was told when I got my BP it was a male (from a pet shop)
After reasearch on how to tell I thought it was a female. Our vet said he would not sex her (at 2-3 months old) because she was too young. I know that is wrong, because I have seen breeders sexing thier snakes shortly after they hatch.
I watched many videos on "poping" and after many months I thought I would have my husband help me and try it. Well her/his tail is quite hard, so poping is out of the question.
The reason we guessed it was a female was the tail size way.
"males will have thicker, longer tails than females."

So my question is, Can you tell for sure your snake is a male or female without probing, or poping?

Also my snake, when i run my fingers down her/his tail end he/she wags her/his tail. (I have long nails but I am careful not to scratch)
Does anybody else have a bp that does this?

The only sure way I know of is to have a reputable herp vet determine the sex of your snake by popping. I am not sure of the age requirement to sex a snake (for the snake, not the owner :) ) but I would first ensure your vet is experienced in herp/snakes.

You can hurt a snake if you do not know how to pop properly.

there is no visual way to tell the sex, and dont trust pet stores. when i got my first ball they said it was a female, ended up being a male.

My vet is a general study type. he does every animal. He is the only one within about 100mi+/- that even is willing to treat a reptile. I found others on line that said they treated reptiles, but when I called they said the didn't. Also I don't think my vet sees many snakes....there seems to be no one in town that has one...in the next town over(10mi) there is one snake owner.

dont take it to just any vet, especially one who you are iffy about. because if they mess up you will be heading 100+ miles out of the way to get to the vet you should have gone to before.

unless you are planning on breeding then i wouldnt worry about it.
