Good vibes and prayers needed....
My sister-in-law has been in Australia for the last 8 months or so and she was just admitted to a hospital in Perth with meningitis. They say that the first 48 hours are the most dangerous and she is at about 36 hours now since started on treatment. 1 in 10 diagnosed with meningitis don't make it, 1 in 5 have permanent disability.
We are all very worried and my mother-in-law is having a rough time. She is trying to get a flight out to Australia this week.
Any warm thoughts, prayers, or good vibes are appreciated.

We just heard from a doctor in Perth, she has severe pain in her head from the swelling and infection but they say that the blood tests are looking good and her vitals are steady. Its been a long day waiting for them to call but its great to hear positive news. Thanks for the support.

Hey, look at the bright side.
According to your odds, she has a 90% chance of getting better and an 80% chance of coming out of it with no lasting effects. And I'll bet those were conservative figures.
Lots of prayers, good vibes and well wishes for a speedy and uneventful recovery. :gj:
