Question.

Ok, once again, like I have said before. I am new to the whole snake thing, but I have learned a lot in the past few weeks.

Well anyway. For the average young snake, how much do they tend to grow inbetween sheds? I am sure this is subjective but I had to ask.

Being the idiot I was, I never measured our new ball when we got her earlier this month, and took the guy that we bought her from at his word in saying she was about a foot and a half. Well she shed a few days ago, and we measured her today, and she came in at 22 and a half inches.

Well, I don't know what the avg. growth is per shed, but I know, at average, BP's are supposed to grow a foot a year for the first few years of their lives.

I got Pandora at 3 months and she was 'tiny' but bigger than most BPs at her age; I guess you can say. She's been shedding at the end of every single month and growing like a weed. They grow the most in their first year; I'm pretty sure it means your snake is healthy :)
I feed her every 5 days, btw.

Every snake grows differently, so that question is rather hard to answer. Some BPs are short but quite thick, and others are long and thin. As long as your snake does, in fact, grow...then all should be well. :)

This is mainly why it's better to keep track of a snake's growth via weight. The gaining and losing of grams is not only an accurate way to see how much the snake is growing, but also a fine way to get early warnings on potential health issues.
