A good book to reference is The Art of Keeping Snakes, by Philippe de Vosjoli. He has a very good section about plants, what to keep and why.

Unfortunately, BP's will just about destroy whatever plant you give them, I've always used fake plants just for that reason. Plus, fake plants don't need UV or maintenance besides the occasional soak to clean from pee, poo or urates.

NOT a good idea to put live plants in with a snake! :) Not because the plant will hurt the snake, but because the snake will crush the plant.

Better to head to Walmart or JoAnn Fabrics or the like and get some nice soft plastic or 'silk' fake plants. Easier to clean, doesn't matter if they get crushed, and they still look nice. :)

BPs are the kings of rearanging their cages to their liking. Live plants won't stand up.
