    Found This...
I don't know much about snakes but I'm thinking this might be a corn. It thinks it's 10' long and bullet proof even though it's a tiny.

My dad found it in the garage as he was cleaning up and was ready to kill it until I stepped it. Bringing it in the house is out of the question and I don't want to just let it go. We are in Florida so the weather is not too bad. Should I just let it go out in the woods? I don't know anybody who wants it.

    Thanks!

    pictures aren't working for me.

If you found a snake in your house in florida, and it's a native species, sure just release it out in the woods. I'm not 100% sure that corns are native to florida but it wouldn't surprise me.

If the snake is non native I wouldn't release it, if it were me I'd put it up in a tub in a room far away from any other reptiles(QT procedures) until I could find a home for it.

I don't understand why the pics are not working. They are in my gallery if you haven't checked there.

It's a pretty snake with a checkerboard pattern. Wish you could see it.

Could be then...I really don't know. Do they look similar to Corns? I thought I seen corns with the checkerboard pattern.

I take it the pics still are not showing up...any idea what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks for taking the time to identify it. Should I let it go or try to find a home for it? The temps are not that bad right now but it's going to get cold.

Best I can tell he is just a native ... I mean he is a normal corn ... given that your in FL it's not real cold ... I would say let him go. He'll figure something out :snake:

Then that is what I'll do! I'll probably take it for a ride and release it down in the forest to ensure that it won't make it back in front of my dad's path.

I just explained to my dad that it's a completely harmless snake but wants you to think that it's 10' tall and bulletproof and that the tail shaking was probably just a scare tactic. His response "it works!"

What is the likely hood of him finding more of these little guys in the shed? After he found this one, he was cleaning out boxes by using a 5' pole just so he wouldn't have to get close should there be another one. I don't think I've seen a grown man more scared of a snake than he is! LMAO I don't know how we managed to sneak a ball into the house, right under his nose! LOL

Another thing....I've got it on the patio in my bp's old feeder tank with a heat lamp over it, aspen bedding and a couple toilet paper rolls for hides. Should I wait until tomorrow when it's warmer to release it or let it go now?
