what do I get

I had plans to breed this season but as you all know nothing goes exactly as planned. I currently have 1.0 spider and 0.3 normals they have 1 female has locked up with the male a few time but now ovulation yet(keeping fingers crossed) and I have decided to try and get ready for next season now since I waited too long this year and I want to produce a super cinny I want to get 1.3 or 2.4 cinnamon pastels what are my chances of producing a super cinny and what do I get when I bred a cinnamon to a cinnamon? what size females should I get now if I want to get them to 1200+ grams by next season?

for any cinny x cinny pairing, you have a 50% chance of each egg being cinny, 25% chance super cinny, 25% chance normal

Snake growth is never a sure thing, so I'd say get a female already close to breeding weight(if you can find one) to be pretty guaranteed she would be of breeding weight. The smaller a snake you get, the less likely it will be the snake will be up to breeding weight next season.

If I were you, I would buy females that were born in 07. They should definitely be ready to go by next season if they were fed well. You have to remember, size is not the only variable in a female becoming gravid. She also has to be mature enough. Some females will breed younger, or smaller, but most females will breed if they are mature and large enough.

One male will easily breed four females. The only issue is if the male does not breed for you, so getting the second male is not a bad idea. That way you will not be putting all of you eggs in one basket.

thats what I was thinking plus males are cheap

I had a few more Q's and I figured Id ask them here rather than starting a new thread.
1. why are there so few male pewters for sale?
2. what are the genetics on the silver bullet? is it super cinnamon pastel or super cinnamon super pastel
3. is it true that cinnie x black pastel make cleaner cinnies that are less prone to deformities ie duck bills and kinks?

Will males be ready to breed if they are around 150-200 grams right now?
I have a chance to get some nice females born in early 08' and are 450+ grams. will the be mature enough to breed late 09' to early 2010 ?

I would say yes feeding them every five days you have a very good chance of getting the females up to weight, and I would say 100percent on the male being up to weight, you can easily have a male up to breeding weight within a year but it doesnt mean he will go for you, thats why it is always better to have 2-3 males because that betters your odds, goodluck in your upcoming breeding season!:)

I was planning on going in on a group buy of males 5 for $775 I will be taking 2 and then I will get a male black pastel. I am still looking for some more 07' or very early 08' females tho. anybody have any experience with J&J reptiles
