    Probe Placement w/ RHP
    Hi,

I hope this is the right area to be posting this thread.

Anyway, I have a 36x24x24 AP cage with a shelf and an RHP from Pro-Products.

I have some trouble with the probe placement of my tstat...here's the deal:

I have my probe on the shelf right now, which gets temperatures absolutely perfect for my JCP. However, when he gets onto the shelf he lies on top of the probe, causing temps to go into the upper 90s, lower 100s for an hour or so. Then, when his body temperature reaches the temperature of the tstat, temps go back to normal.
Is this bad? I know snakes shouldn't be exposed to temps like this, but his body temperature barely exceeds 90F.

Other places for my probe just don't get the optimal temps...

    Suggestions?
