    Incubating medium?
So I was wondering what incubating medium YOU use. I've read all the stickies and there are alot of good stuff there but I'd like to know what you guys use and how it works for you. I would also like to know if you tried something else over the years and how that worked as well.

I have yet to breed any balls but I'm closing in on the time slowly but surely and I'm leaning towards vermiculite and one of those plastic thingys separating the eggs from the medium.

    Thanks

P.S Pictures are always welcome! :gj:

I use a substrateless method, worked great last season and I plan on using it again this season.

That's exactly the way I'm thinking about incubating my future eggs. THe plastic that the eggs rest on, what is that? And where do you get it? (international businesses prefered as I live in Sweden)

Is it vermiculite you got under the plastic "net"?

I use vermiculite and this year I placed the plastic divider like that one pictured in about half of the clutches the other half I just used vermiculite and both worked well. I personally like the way the "substrate less" ones look better but I prefer using the vermiculite around the eggs. I feel like I get less evaporation that way.

This is what I'll be doing as well. I did some test runs with turtle eggs, had 100% success.

It is called Eggcrate or light difuser this is how it is sold over here http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/wcs/...a&ddkey=Search

I am sure you can find something similar where you live.
