    vanilla
I have heard others claim that by putting vanilla in their colonys drinking water that it realy cuts the smell in half. Is this true? I am hoping that between using vanilla, equine fresh substrate, and breeding asf rats that I will have almost no smell at all. What level do you think that I will get from using those thechniques and breeding asf rats? Thanks in advance:gj:

i dont think you would need it with asfs because they dont give off an ammonia smell.

when i had them in my bedroom i never used it and i only had pine in there

If you think about your ASF colony it will not be necessary if you use the equine fresh.

I have mine setup on equine fresh and I only clean their enclosure every other week and it still does not smell.

For mice and rats, you wont kill all the smell. You can do everything possible and you will still have a slight smell. I currently use a nice air purifier that cuts the smell down 75%

ASF dont release the smell rats and mice do.

With the quantity you are talking about getting I would think you should have an out building. We have a 12 rack and 3 6 tall racks like you pictured and they live in the garage. But If I had an out building that is where I would put them with out a doubt.
