Throw up? (warning: grafic!)
I have this female that has been a real problem feeder for almost a year since I got her. She's an '06 and weighs 700 grams.
She ate one mouse every now and then - when she felt like it. So I tried Gerbils and BAM! she takes them right away and have been eating every week since I offered her the first gerbil three weeks ago. The last one she took last saturday.
When I checked on her today there was a very smelly pile of gerbil that was half undigested. There were also some pee and some poop. It's almost a week ago that she ate.
I have this theory - we had an earthquake yesterday. That's really rare here in Sweden and this was the biggest since 1904.
Could this event have stressed her so much that she choosed to throw up in order to escape easy?
Have you ever had this happend to you? Should I take her to the vet.? Should
I be worried?

Re: Throw up? (warning: grafic!)
Yes it is throwup (or regurge) due to stress, and just let her be and don't stress her for at least another week...
Then try and feed her.
But don't be suprised if she doesn't eat.
Stinks, doesn't it?
Re: Throw up? (warning: grafic!)
I might be worried that she has worms considering what a poor feeder she is for you and that she is so small~ have a fecal run and see.
As far as the regurge? They happen sometimes. The earthquake could be at fault, or she could be wormy, or she could just be one of those ultra sensitive snakes................
Clean it up and don't offer any food for at least 10 days from the date she regurged. She needs to replenish the acids she'll need to digest~ if you feed her to quickly she'll just regurge again and create a vicious cycle.
Good Luck!
Re: Throw up? (warning: grafic!)
I agree with both above posts, worms are a possibility. What is the temp gradient like in that cage?
Re: Throw up? (warning: grafic!)
The temps are 80 F and 92 hotspot... And everybody else is eating every week. The seller told me she was a bad feeder, so she's been like this her whole life.
What's a "fecal run"?
Re: Throw up? (warning: grafic!)
A fecal run is basically taking a fecal sample to the vet to check for parasites.
Re: Throw up? (warning: grafic!)
Okey, thankt for all the advice!
Can I take the fecal that I found today and take it to the vet tomorroy, or does it need to be more recent ones?
Re: Throw up? (warning: grafic!)
Call the vet and ask.. :)
