    BARC Reptiles
My roomates 14 y/o daughter purchased a pastel from barc reptiles, paid the $50.00 shipping fee, my concern is the animal was not shipped Fed Ex over night live delivery, it was standard over night, she was ok when she arrived, a little cool though. Is it "normal" practice to ship this way? I thought it was odd that I didn't have to sign for anything and a little pissed.

I wouldn't go with a breeder that didn't ship Fedex over night, with out signing, tracking of the package and garuntee of live on delivery I wouldn't buy from them.

Priority overnight is the standard shipping method through FedEx. A signature request may have been selected, but that does not mean the driver always attempts to get it. I have had drivers walk up to the door and just set the box down and walk away. No knock, ring or anything.

I had the same happen to me....
Was my first online purchase, so I was real concerned about the whole thing. (Had long emails back and forth with the seller reassuring me everthing would be ok, and they had a live on arrival +30 day policy.)
I let the seller know of the no sig, or no knock and they got in contact with FedEX and they confirmed I did not sign, nor was I asked to sign. (I would have not even known the package arrived if I didnt happen to look out the window and see the truck pull off.)

The seller sent a copy of the shipping DOCs and refunded me 15% off the shipping (at their loss) Altho I was not expecting anything back, I thought it was good practice to keep me in good standing about the way they run their business.

All in all everything was fine and My girl is now going thru her 4th shed with me. :D

I'm with Wizzy on this one...too many good breeders out there who do it the right way!
