    question...
Ok this is my 2 1/2 yr old female, she has been shedding fine for the last 3 sheds or so, (actually more but since ive noticed this.) and she has this patch of skin that looks like a scab on her head yet nothing has bit her or cut her head, she is maintained at a steady 60-65% humidity and the temps are fine. also since her last few sheds she has kind of lost pigment??? i was wondering if anyone has experienced this and what did they do about it? she is super active, no visual problems at all and friendly as can be. here are a few pictures of what im talking about. also she has had a patch of off colored skin as if she was injured since day one...she was a wild caught snake and very sickly, ive nursed her to health within the last 2yrs and she is nice and strong, so any information on this is very appreciated.

My bp george had the same issue with the top of his head... I think its probably that he was just a bit rough on himself during the shed. It has cleaned up pretty nicely since he did it last shed. I can still tell its there but it doesnt look like a problem. I'd keep an eye on it because when those last scales do come of it may be a bit raw and prone to infection.

BPs are pretty durable snakes and even with a lil scratch or so they will heal right up. just keep an eye out for bad things and let him heal. Should be fine

This is what George looked like a month ago, but now its all healed up and only looks like some slight discoloration

    Hi,

It's hard to be certain from the pictures but it looks like a piece of retained shed over a wound.

The bit in the middle looks almost like a gouge on the top of her head - are you sure she didn't scarpe it on cage furniture or anything? And the marking on her side is definately a scar.

I have to agree with D.

The bit on the head looks like a deep gouge, almost like a rat bite or something of the like. The bit on the side looks like a scar from a burn. I'd be willing to bet your snake was burned at some point.

    hope that helps.

yeah she wasnt in the best condition when i first got her from a pet store around town....they have been shut down since then which is awesome. maybe she had hit her head on something im not 100% sure, i clean out there tanks every week and noticed it a few weeks back, but no sign of blood or anything....oh well. she is very healthy and actully just ate about 20-30 mins ago.
    thanx for everyones input.
