Shedding once a month?!!

My BP is 8 years old, and it has started shedding like crazy and growing, it has outgrown its hides, i bought it a new large hide today and it wouldn't fit!
It is at 5ft maybe more(i would say a little over), but the shedding pattern is so weird, anyone have any input?

You mentioned in this thread http://www.ball-pythons.net/forums/s...ad.php?t=77938 that he had an injury from his prey... I'd guess that he's still healing from that. The more frequently he sheds, the faster he heals.
