    Johnson controls or ranco ETC-111000 thermostats
    Which do you think is better?

    I have them both. Both are excellent , the ranco is slightly bigger box, the jhnson has a funny little green light when it's on. Other than that features are the same for the most part. One other thing, the ranco is about $10 cheaper

    Both are fairly equal. They can both be wired for night drop I believe (Rich at Reptile Basics would be better to answer that), both are about the same price, both handle the same amt of watts.

    I also have both, and I personally prefer the Johnson (which is why I have two). It's smaller, the clicks are quieter, and the indicator light is nice to see how often it's coming on.

    Yea pretty sure. I think they sell it wired up for night drop on reptile basics.

    Both are good. as far as being effective. I do however like Johnsons better because the probe can be replaced if it goes bad. The ranco it can not. Theres more why I like Johnson better but thats the main reason.

    I have had several of each in service for 4+ years and have found the Johnsons to be considerably more reliable. We have had problems with at least 2 of the Rancos and replaced them with Johnsons.

    i know the ranco cannot be wired for night drop
