it could be because of the winter, sometimes ball pythons are known to go off feed for the winter. I feel this is because the cool temps turns on the breeding season, and my ball pythons do not like to eat during this time. Also ball pythons are know for vasting in general, I believe the longest recorded without feeding was 28 months, I wouldnt worry to much unless, he is to the point where his weight is an issue, and then force feeding comes into play. I had to force feed one of my rescues a hatchling normal male, for 3-4 months before he would eat on his own. Goodluck, and keep us updated:)

How old is the ball python. What are the temps in the encloser. Balls do tend to go of feeding for months at a time. As long as your not having massive loss weight. You should be good.

hes about 2 years old.... his warn side is 90 and his cool is 85... humidity is at 48 right now... so i dont think it is cause of his temps.... and it doesnt seem or look like he has lost any weight at all...but i dont have a scale so i dont know for certain...

do i still offer him food every week ??

quick question...at what point does weight become an issue? I have a male that hasn't eaten in a month and has lost 15g, which I don't believe to be very much, but just how much weight can they lose before it's unhealthy? He went from right about 400 to 385 btw

I would say that by just picking them up and feeling their, spine to the point where their skin kinds of just folds over and they feel like there is nothing to them. That is when you know you have to do something, right now one of my normal females has been off feed for more than 4 months, vet says no parasites, and that she is healthy. But she just does not want to eat, shes starting to look poorly, so next week I am going to force feed her. But thats how I tell when weight loss becomes an issue

This is just one of the things that will drive you nuts with ball pythons. with it being two years this will happen. As long as you fed him good before hand he can last months with out eating.
