I want to know if this video .. strike anyone as odd. Anything the Kumasi does (or doesn't do) ...

I am concerned, and I have been told by the owner that everything is fine ... but I am concerned.

something doesnt seem right there, I thought that he was dead for a minute there. That snake is very unaware and not with it, somethings wrong.

No - nothing struck me as odd, other than he isn't providing her/him enough heat. What is it specifically that concerns you?

    Hi,

I didn't see anything in the video that alarmed me. I do want to know why the snake is cold though - but it flickers its tongue ok and seems in full control of its muscles etc.

What is it that concerns you about it?

I thought the snake seemed unaware, and in a sense of saying not with it. I could be wrong though

I have some that are very outgoing, and then I have some that act like that one when you set them on the floor "if I freeze, no one can see me!!!!" And they'll remain stiff when you hold them - they are incredibly timid.

So, I guess I didn't see anything odd in the snake's behavior.

I agree. Laying dead still is a self defense mechanism in many reptiles that rely on camoflauge. Cold animals also conserve energy by staying motionless and slowing their metabolism. Heat him up and give him a small secure enclosre and I bet his behavior will change. He stays in the hide because he is seeking security which is a stronger instinct than seeking warmth or food.

The video struck me as strange .. something to wonder about. The laying still wasn't my big concern, actually .. nothing was a huge concern, just fishy. His entire channel is devoted to reptiles, and to see the snake so motionless, talking about it not eating and being cold ..

I dunno .. I was a bit worried for the animal.

    That I agree with.

I didnt know if this was a friend of yours and you wanted some feedback. Anyone can get a snake, video camera and make a youtube video, that doesnt mean they necessarily know what the hell they are doing.

Nope, not a friend, just some random kid on teh interwebs that I found a while back (before I owned my own snakes). I sub'd, and just watched that video. Knowing what I know now, and wonder why I ever sub'd to his videos.
