    any one have instructions on how to construct a good field herping stick?

    I got a fishing pole, took the top part off and fabricated a hook head that fits in the end. Nice foam handle, thumb rest, cant ask for more.

    We use old golf clubs....you can pick em up at garage sales cheap and then cut the end off and solder or weld a hook on the end.

    We use the same method as Richard, then coat the hook in durable rubber. Works like a dream.

    plastikote makes some stuff that you can dip the hook in its very close to the same stuff they use on the handles on pliars

    I decided to make my own style
    I got a paint roller and attached it to a extender for painting.
    cut off part of the roller(to make more workable)
    And it looks great.
    Will post pics tommorrow

    I went to Lowes and they had a ruberizing liquid so i am picking a bit up tommorrow.
