    Is this normal
My little BP male soaks in his water bowl from time to time. Is this normal? He is in a 20 gallon terrarium. Humidity is 55%, it is 90 degrees on the hot side and 80 degrees on the cool side. Do I have it to warm for him? I checked him for mites and he does not have any. He seems to like to soak right after a feeding. Thanks in advance for your responses.

It could be that his meals are a little big and he's soaking to relieve some pressure in his belly.

Temps and humidity sound fine, and you said that you don't see mites (they'll look like pepper flakes in the water dish).

Other than soaking to relieve pressure and the other reasons you've eliminated, mine don't generally soak.

I've only seen one of my BPs soak once and it was about a week before he shed and the humidity was too low. When was the last time your snake shed?

My snake shed the day after Thanksgiving. The humidity is 50% and it was at 65% when he shed. The warm side of the tank is at 90 degrees and the warm side is 80 degress. I have him in a 20 gallon terrarium.
