Some of them even tried to rub against turtle shells for the thrill. Perhaps not such a wonder at their inability to withold until the proper moment presents itself.

Protoplasimc Pete takes a preponderance of pride in his perpetual preparedness.

And so he goes, drifting on the currents, galooping along at speed that would never shame even the slowest of landsnails when all of a sudden, not so much seen, being eyeless and all, but sensed is the Motherload of Protoplasmic Pennys and Persephonies and Pamelas, why, there must be 200,000 of them if he were any judge, which he wasn't since counting was not one of Protoplasmic Petes gifts but it does fit in nicely with the topic of the thread.
