Nippy BRS
I couldn't quite decide what to get for my first pet snake. At first I had my heart set on a ball python, but some had told me that was a bad idea, so I pondered what else might work ... when a friend, who incidentally had a baby Black Rat Snake he wanted off his hands, offered said snake to me.
He (gender unknown, just using "he" by default) is quite nippy and doesn't like it when I try to hold him. I know his bites don't hurt, but I'd still rather not let him bite me. XD Any handling advice you gents would mind sharing?

Just keep handling it a few minutes each day.Keep it well fed,It will get used to it and should stop the bites. You don't want to be trying to avaoid bites when it gets this big.

Re: Nippy BRS
Out of curiosity, what was the reasoning given to you that made you not get a ball python?
They all have different personalities but as a whole, they are very docile. I have 2 balls that were abused by their previous owners, and they are extremely docile considering what they have been through.
