Security Blanket?
Ok, so as you can see by my sig I have 2 BP's, Oakley (M) and Hissy Fit (F). The questions/statements are regarding Oakley. I have him in a 40 gallon breeder that is well furnished and I actually went and bought some of the fake Exo Terra foliage. The issue I am curious about is that he spends all his time in his hide, but Hissy who is in a 10 gallon will crawl all over her tank. He is just a baby and I know the cage is rather large, I actually thought I was just getting a 30 gallon from the guy I bought it from. He isn't really active in his tank but when he is around me he crawls around and stuff, hell as I type this he was just crawling through my hair and is now thinking about slithering down my chest. Does he look at me as his security blanket, am I like his mother or something? He amuses me because when I let him roam around the computer desk he tends to keep his tail curled around one of my fingers.
So what are your thoughts?
Proof of his escapades, he did this after crawling off my back

He has been circling around this for about 5 minutes now.

Re: Security Blanket?
If he's spending most of his time in his hides, he's a happy BP. I never see mine unless I'm feeding him or handling him. The rest of the time he's in one of his hides. If I were you, I'd be more concerned about your young cage cruiser. I'm sure he'll settle at some point, but just double check your temps and humidity.

The temps are right on the money. do you think she is stressing for some reason? I know he is feelin good, he finished his shed yesterday AND dropped a deuce. lol. I know I would be feeling better. :partyon:

Re: Security Blanket?
I've read many times on this Forum that young BP's can take some time to settle down and quit crusing. Mine did the same thing when I brought him home, till I read a post on here about putting foam-core or dark construction paper on three sides of the tank. As soon as I did that, he settled into one of his hides, and tucked right in.

Re: Security Blanket?
They are both wide open, but I have been wanting to get a jungle background for his cage. Something to match the foliage I got.
