    doing transactions: money/animal concerns
What do you do when doing a sale with high end animals, we dont want to do checks, paypal, exc because of problems with people bouncing checks but we dont want to be in the middle of cash exchanged and get screwed either... so what do those of you who do large sales like that do? My husband suggested going to a mall or something but i know a snake in the mall wouldnt go over well and we live in a very quiet development and honestly dont want people coming to our home obviously so what is there to do???

    That's easy.

I'll take a check all day everyday. I won't ship your snake till it clears the bank, paypal is the same way.

The other option is to only sale at shows.

USPS money orders are nice too... you can call to verify them.

what about a cashiers check or money order? the buyer has to have cash or the money comes out of their account directly.

You can accept cashier checks and credit cards through Paypal’s Virtual Terminal https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/we...side&nav=2.0.5 ) which allow you to accept credit card online or on the phone.

Just remember if your limit your options you might limit your ability to sell as well.

Just keep in mind that the animal should only ship once the payment as cleared.

Paypal is the easiest since they offer ways for people to pay you even if they dont have an account. And its safe. People have been screwed in the past by paypal but they have changed for the better. In the last 5 years i've had Zero problems with them. Its my prefered method of accepting cash.

I use paypal, and just wait until the money clears. Sometimes it clears immediately, and other times it clears in a few days. I would do the same with checks. I have also had customers pick up at my house.

cashiers checks are used widely in scams, i would not take a cashiers check at all. i would do mostly only money orders or paypal due to them being actually the most secure way of a transaction. i myself would not take any forms of checks since they have to be deposited into your bank account. if you read up on the check scams or casheirs scam or call your bank you will find out even if one clears it can still be bad and therefor leave you paying the money back. it will then also give the sender your bank info and routing number which could then cause kaos for you.
