help... really wierd shed problem
okay, so my new pastel just shed. i misted her the night before when she looks like she was about to shed ans the humidity is at 65% all the time. i went in the room the next morning and she had shed on her head already. but the top of her head which used to be light brown is now LIGHT grey... her scales came off her head!!!!!!! its more dull then the rest of her after she shed like the "finish" of her sales is like a satin and the rest are glossy. ill post a pic later tonight, i just dont have my camera right now. i mean her head looks completely fine but i really think the scales came off. you can still see the shape of the scales and everything but thecolor is really light and its dull and then all of assuden glossy on ther neck. the part the came off or whaever looks like a scaleless snake. i dont know what i can do! she acts fine and it looks completely fine... i just dont understand how that could possibly happen.

Re: help... really wierd shed problem
well thats what i thought... but i mean it doesnt look irritated at all and she doesnt freak out wen i touch it... you think it will come back with her next shed or are they gone for good?? i mean it kinda looks cool but i just want her to be okay and be normal
Re: help... really wierd shed problem
They should look fine after the next shed. My girl lost some scales on the top of her head with her last shed. As far as I can tell, the top of those scales just come off with the shed skin.
Re: help... really wierd shed problem
not to sound like a complete moron but what causes this to happen? I'd imagine it would be painful or take a pretty hard rubbing against something to happen, no?
Thankfully I havent't had it happen yet (knocks on wooden desk) but I'd like to prevent it from happening.
Sorry about your snake, I hope the next shed is better :)
Re: help... really wierd shed problem
and suprisingly... she got alot more blushing and didnt seem to lose very much brightness at all. i always thought that pastels got darker after every shed, but she almost got brighter
