Cute short reptile/toddler story..
My velvet gecko Orion has been in my room for over the last year, so our toddler has never actually seen him. she's seen his viv but never paid attention to what was in it.
we moved Orion down stairs in the living room the other night as I missed seeing him and his viv down here. Our 2 y/o toddler seen him for the first time when I was feeding him mealies by hand..
toddler "LOOK MOMMY A KANGAROO!"
(we busted out laughing) we said "he's a gecko" and I took him out and showed her.
toddler "oh diego?" (a nickelodeon cartoon character)
us "not diego, a GGGGeckkkkooo" (pronouncing it slowly for her)
toddler "oh a gahcko"
then a little while later, "THE KANGAROO IS MOVING MA MA LOOK"
HAHAHAHAHAHA what kids think of.. the whole kangaroo thing was super funny to us, we didn't even know she knew the word kangaroo!!!

Awwww, kids are so sweet. My niece (now 8) ALWAYS wants to hold the snakes. When she was little she called my BP Indigo...dingo :D
Enjoy your baby while you still can. They grow up so fast! But then you can sit back, relax, and wait for grandbabiesssss!
Re: Cute short reptile/toddler story..
lol @ dingo thats cute!
and i do know how fast they grow, I've seen it first hand with my 9 y/o niece. Seemed like it was just yesterday she was calling me Aunt MayMe lol now she's like a woman born. it's depressing :(
when she was really little I had 6 ferrets, she seen them for the first time and yelled AHHH THNAKETH!! (snakes lol) and ran away. She loved the ferrets in no time and would always let them out of their cage. LOL
Now that I have real snakes I hear "Why do you like snakes so much Aunt Maizie? They're cool but scary" oh and "This is my new rat, dont feed this one off" She's afraid of them but interested at the same time. My sister keeps telling me if you get my kids wanting a snake i'll kill you LMFAO  Guess it's good we live 2 states apart, otherwise I'd be dead HEHEHEE
As for our toddler, she says and does new things everyday, it's comical!! She's very, very smart and LOVESSS all animals. Im hoping she grows up to be a vet so I get free vet care lmfao o O (one can dream right?)
PS
I have an indigo too :)

Now you guys know why I'm a nanny! I raised my kids, have a degree in Math but just couldn't get away from kids. I work 3 ~ 10 hour days for a 7, 6 and almost 3 yo. Just love them!!
Very cute stories!! I know diego very well, lol.
Re: Cute short reptile/toddler story..
I love how kids gets things all mixed up.
One of my little sisters loved to ride roller toasters, and my daughter always gets a freeze brain when she drinks something cold. OH and she told me (in a tone that she was imparting major words of wisdom to me) that you should never put a noodle in your nose. :weirdface
Kids are great for saying funny things. :giggle:

:8: ROFLMFAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thats hilarious!!!!!! Good advice! I will have to remember that one for safety reasons hehehe LOL @ roller toasters, classic!!
Kinda reminds me of my cousin, years ago when he was about 5-ish.. Christmas day I asked him what santa brought him. He said in a very kind and caring voice as not to hurt my feelings, "cousin maizie, sit down.. I gotta tell you something but dont cry ok? There really is no santa. Parents tell kids that to give them something fun to believe in" My jaw literally hit the floor, and thought it was the cutest thing, here this little kid is trying to break the news to a teenager HAHAHAA.
i looked at his motherlike this :O and she said, I dont believe in lying to my kids so I teach them about the spirit of Christmas and what it means. I will never forget that, it was very touching of him to be so kind while he hoped it wouldnt break my heart.
He also told his mom one morning for breakfast he wanted toast and he wanted it wearing jelly HAHAHAHA
Kids really do say the darnedest things!
kepp them coming everyone! :)
