My BP setup consists of an UTH set at 90F and an infrared night bulb. In the daytime, the tank is only on the UTH and the ambient air is 80F to 85F. At night, the UTH will keep a warm spot under the hides, but the ambient air is 70 to 75. I use the night bulb at night which keeps the ambient in the 80's, but the bulb causes the humidity to drop between 40 and 45 whereas without the night bulb the humidity stays around 60. My question, is the ambient temp important for night hours? My BP still has the heat element to sit. If the ambient is important, is it a problem to have low humidity just at night in order to maintain ambient air temps?
