Re: plastic tub set-ups question
if you use the search funtion using keywords like "racks" and "snake rack" you should find all kinds of answers and DIY build ups. even on search engines like Google and Yahoo should help you out alot.
Re: plastic tub set-ups question
Usually, the holes are the size of the soldering iron. :) The best way to hole tubs.
Stacking free-standing tubs is doable, but a hassle and a half since you have to unstack them to open them.
The best bedding in tubs is newsprint and aspen.
Here are a few pics of some of my tubs.

I don't think it really matters, as long as the snake can't get out

I like using a glue gun with no glue in it to make the holes. I put approx 40 holes about 2 cm in diameter all around the tub. Yes it is ok to stack them as long as they are secure and your heat source can reach each tub. You can use newspaper for bedding (easy to clean). Since tubs hold humidity well, you don't really need something like aspen or cypress mulch, unless you want it for looks.
Re: plastic tub set-ups question
also if you dont have a soldering iron and dont want to go buy one, i used a regular screwdriver and set the end on my stove to heat it up. worked like a dream, i would suggest using a oven mit to hold it though unless you have a long screwdriver:D.
Re: plastic tub set-ups question
Honestly, I just used a pair of scissors for mine. It's alot more work, and you have to be more careful to make the holes uniform and clean, but if you have nothing else, it works just fine!
