    To anybody who keeps Garters
    Considering a Garter...

Do any of the sub species have different temperments, requirements as far as habitat, or anything else than a plain jane garter?

I was interested in the "coast" garter snake, any ideas on reputable breeders?
the latin name is thamnophis elegans terrestris.

I've seen some red sided garters, and while they look simliar, I simply like the "coast" garter a bit more.

Any infomartion on keeping any garters is appreciated!

Most all are kept the same....with a few differences here and there.

http://www.albinogartersnake.com/index.html Lots of info and selection there. Good guy, great breeder.

    Thanks!

I actually emailed him today, and he doesn't have any of the coast garters. I was really hoping he did, seems like a great breeder.

I know if I ever wanted a garter I would get a Florida Blue Striped and/or Red Sided Garters.
Generally, what I have heard is that their husbandry is usually pretty similar and they are not too picky.
Hope you find what you want!
