1 of 4 Women Abused: true or false

I heard a rather disturbing statistic today that if true is a reflection of men that should never see the light of day.

It was reported that 1 in every 4 women have been physically abused. It was reported that often (and this I know and already knew WAS true) the women do not report this abuse.

This would mean that a goodly percentage of the male population was engaged in beating up girls.

I've been angry. I've been friggin pissed. I have been so mad at a person or two that I have punched walls and broken furniture but I have NEVER hit a girl because I was mad at her. Even if she hit me first. It only happened once, and I laughed, but it was her determination to hurt me and the utter failure of that effort that amused.

I mention that so that it is known that even I, an occasionally hotheaded individual, have managed to keep my manhood intact and not beat up any girls.

Guys, if you've ever hit a girl, why are you still alive? There is something very wrong with you and those of us who don't abuse the defenseless would appreciate your checking out just as soon as you can.

I'm not looking for stories or reasons or anything. I'd just like the WOMEN of bp.net to vote yes or no, they either have or have not been abused by a man.

I want to see if 25% is accurate. If it is, that's pretty sad.
