Thanks for helping the New Gal
I just wanted to say thanks to all of you who gave me some very helpful information yesterday. I noticed a theme forming in the posts when everyone suggested i read up on husbandry, so i did. I do want to try to redeem myself on one small issue. I did NOT use pine substrate as i originally said in my post. I am aware of the dangers of pine and cedar. I used something called jungle floor that i got from PetCo. I discovered that last night when i went shopping for my remodel. It is safe.

I wont go into too much detail, but i bought new hides and refloored the tank with aspen. It was also feeding night so i needed an excuse to go crazy with my wallet. I have convinced my gf to get me a second tank for Christmas. I'll have the overcrowding situation remedied soon. The tank looks great, pics will come eventually. Thanks again.

Finally, i realize this is not a breeding post. For all of you die hard breeders, i'll keep these non-breeding posts out of here from now on. I just wanted the people who helped to hear my THANKS!

Good job :gj:, nothing like a responsible owner willing to make the necessary changes that will benefit their animals!

Glad to read that things are going well and that the advice offered by the membership here was helpful to you (since that is the whole point of this place LOL). Sometimes it's hard to be a new owner and have all these issues raised and it can leave some people feeling picked on or made to feel "stupid". I'm always glad to see someone like you who understands it's not about that at all but rather about helping you be the best snake keeper you can be with healthy, happy snakes to enjoy.

Glad to here it worked and things are sorting themselves out for you. It really is a lifelong learning curve though. I think that's part of the fascination for me in keeping these unique creatures in our home. :)
