    pastel scales "browning"
i recently got my pastel out after id come back from my dads for a week and went to clean the cage out with new bedding ect. When i picked the pastel up i noticed her scales on her back down to around 3cm off her belly scales had begun to have a brownish tinge. the strange thing is that her belly scales were fine and not all of her back scales were brownish. I imediately gave her a bath and had a close look with a magnifing glass. it looked like the scales were fine but the pigmant had changed. weird. so i went on the internet and looked at scale rot but it didnt look like it was that so i looked around again and found this

see how the scales have a brownish tinge but near the belly they apear normal.
Just so you know she shed around 2-3 weeks ago and SOME but not many of her scales were like this. On another forum someone said that over time a pastels scales will dull and go like the pic but i wanted some more opinions.
I probalbly sound panicked and i am coz im worried for my little girl.

Shes just gettin older!!! :whisper:but dont tell her that!;) Pastel's do brown out. Some pastel lines may be different but i was under the impression that the more orange a hatchling pastel has the more likely that particular animal will "brown" out!

they do brown with age, depending on genetics

they also can look lighter or darker under different lighting conditions

but if you're seeing a sudden change it may indicate a shed is coming. they look darkest before shedding.
