thermostat

well i wave a 40 dollar thermostat from big apple herp and i was going to use it for my newly built snake rack , just until i can afford a herpstat nd. but the thermostat i have simply shuts off and turns on power to the heating device rather than adjusting how much power is given to the device. will this work with the heat tape or not?

It will work but it would be best to also get a dimmer/rheostat.

Walmart etc has an inline dimmer used for lamps that costs about $10 that would be well worth the investment as a backup and for your setup.
