Re: Help help help help help
You need to just let it be for a while.....let it settle in and get to feeding and such good. Then worry about trying to hold it.....they will typically get better at being held as they age.
Re: Help help help help help
So then this behavior is normal at first? I want to make sure that this is normal and it will get better because tomorrow is the last day that I can take him back. Trust me I dont want to take him back, I love him but I am gun shy when it comes to animals because I have had some bad luck with animals and bad behavior in my past!
Re: Help help help help help
A healthy baby beardie will puff up and be afraid of you at first, think about it... they're tiny... about as long as one of your fingers and having a big hand comin' at them should freak them out. Also try and not hold them to high in the air because if they jump a long fall can do a little beardie in. Give the little fella time to settle in. What you are experiencing sounds like completely normal behavior. You'll be fine and congratulations on the new baby beardie! Just be careful and read up a bit on them! Congrats again!

Re: Help help help help help
Let the little fellow settle in for about a week or so. The you can slowly start to handle him. At first start with short handling time then each time you get him out maybe hold him for just a little longer.
Re: Help help help help help
I start all mine by just putting my hand in there here and there and letting them come to me. Once they start to come over and lick ya.....your in then!
Re: Help help help help help
They lick? How funny! Thanks!
