Hi there!! New and with a bp Q
Hi all! I came here in hopes of getting some answers. i thought i was a member here before...? but i guess not  anywho, i have mostly boa constrictors, a few balls, and a blood python. i have a pretty unusual ball though, and i wanna see what yall think. its a little female, hatched this past august. shes very sweet, active, perfectly healthy, good eater, etc etc etc. my question is, she has a nice little pink belly, and i have never seen a ball with a pink belly before. all anyone can say is that they sometimes turn pink when they are about to shed and it goes away after the shed. well this female shed right before she was shipped to me (a month ago), and she still has her pink belly now. Do you think it could be something genetic, or some kinda fluke or what?

this was taken the day i got her:

this was about 2 weeks ago:

you can even see it creeping up her sides a little bit:

and this was taken this past few days:

the pink color is all the way from her chin down to the tip of her tail, the color is very even, no blotches or anything. one person suggested that it could be a burn, but there is no chance of that happening at the breeders place, or at mine. plus burns scab up and such...so it cant be a burn. any ideas?

Don't know about the belly coloration, but she is very underweight. Her belly looks sunk in in all of the pictures and her back is triangular shaped- both are indications of being underweight.

What are you feeding her and how often?

I don't know what to tell you other than that it looks to me like she's about to shed again... But I do agree that she looks underweight, but nothing a few good feedings won't fix...

thanks for the suggestions. i dont really think shes about to shed again, but who knows she might surprise me. i havent seen any of the dulling in color or blue eyes yet. after she sheds again, we will see if she has kept the pink or not.

she is a pretty small baby, but she will plump up after a few more meals, no doubt about it. as long as she eats and poops fine, she will be fine :)

this guy was a problem feeder, would constrict and not eat, hes a june baby, still really short, but hes fat for his size:

I had some babies that seemed to have a pinker belly. They seemed to grow out of it. If you are sure it isn't a burn, I wouldn't worry about it, but it will be interesting to see if it stays.....
