Newbie here

well i am thinking about getting a ball python.. nothing fancy just a norm since it will be my first python. i had a corn snake for a little over a year before i had to sell it. my parents didnt want the snake in the house so i had to get rid of it.. how i have my own place.. and i kept the heating pad tank and hides so ive got everything except substrate and the snake.. my question is, would it be a good idea for me to get a pythin? are they hard to maintain. i heard that corn snakes were the best first snakes and that pythons were not much different? i dont want to get a snake then not know what to do with it and have to get rid of it again..

ive got plenty of space.. the tank is a 5o gal long (big enought for sull size python?)

i can get the snake whenever i want.. i have a buddy who has about 10 snakes and has some good connect.. i wold get a hatchling norm for 40 buks.. what do you guys think?

I would say if your still not sure, to research untill your eyeballs fall out and your brain is the consistancy of a well formed Python turd. You have to remember that they need 50% humidity on a regular basis and more when shedding. They need hide boxes and a water dish. The only thing that really comes to mind as a real problem is a 50 Gal sounds like WAY too much for a baby ball python. Baby ball's like small enclosures cause it makes them feel more secure. 50 Gal is good for like a big one but they gotta grow into it first. Ball python females top out at about 5-6ft long with the males only reaching around 4 ft long. They can live for more than 25 years so you will have your ball for a VERY long time if kept correctly. They are Gentle and make great pets! I personally think they are the best pet snake you can get!

oh yes forgot to mentioin that part.. i dont leave the whole tank open.. by the time i got rid of my corn i wasnt using up even half.. but i figured i mihgt as well buy the big one so i woldnt have to keep upgrading.

and as for researching.. im doing a whole lot.. i have been thinkin about gettin a python for about a month now but really got on it about a week ago.. i went to my buddys apartment and saw his snakes and now i want mine!
