tap water

Is tap water OK to use in the water dish or should it be bottled/filtered water?? I am watching a YouTube video and the kid says not tap water because of the chlorine.

Well if you're worried about it you can use bottled or filtered water but most people just use tap water. There's nothing in there that's really going to hurt your snake. If you're worried about the chlorine (like maybe if your areas water has a high amount) you can fill a pitcher with water and leave it in the fridge overnight and it will dissipate the chlorine.

I use tap water and haven't had any problems.

Make sure the jug or pitcher you fill has the lid or spout open, so when the chlorine evaporates it has somehwere to escape.

I would say you don't really even need to do it, since when you put tap water in the dish the chlorine will evaporate on its own before the snake even takes a sip. But if it makes you feel safer then do what you gotta do. Also, you can use the aquarium water conditioner to remove chlorine and chloramines. They make the same thing for reptiles, but it's exactly the same except a higher price tag.

Every week I pour HOT tap water into a bottle and let it sit for a few days with the lid off. The chlorine dilutes better in hot water and evaporates much quicker. There's no big deal about using regular tap water unless like mentioned above, there's an abnormally high amount of chlorine in it. If you really want to, just buy bottle water or distilled water.

I use tap water, but if i have any bottles of water laying around the house or anything ill just put whatever is left in the water bowls.

Ditto what Drew said. Leftover bottled water around here goes into snake and dog bowls and in plants.

The difference between tap water and bottled water is almost non existent. In fact NY tap water is being bottle and sold now adays, go figure!

I have 2 gallon jugs that I fill with tap water and use for my snakes.
